South East England Development Agency Providers in the South East
New Environmental Skills for New Markets
Enviroskills will help find the right training …. And subsidise the costs!
The business world is evolving and to make sure organisations attract new business or enter new markets, companies and their employees need to be ahead of the game.
Enviroskills, led by Business Support Kent CIC (BSK) and co-financed by SEEDA using ESF funds, began in January 2009. The project will offer short accredited SME-focused courses to support the up-skilling of the SME workforce in the South East Region at Levels 3 & 4 in Environmental and related Bioscience skills.
All participating learners will undergo a Training Needs Analysis, either face to face with a dedicated skills advisor, or via an on-line tool developed for the project. Based on the results of the Training Needs Analysis, learners will be brokered to course provision facilitated by specialised providers. The existing network of delivery will be extended to include provision that will be expanded in line with SME requirements and new courses developed as need and demand is identified. At least 40 modules will be available through Enviroskills at subsidised prices to eligible participants. Individuals of employed or self employed status can take part in the programme. A wide selection of specialist partners, the SE Business Links and Skills SE will be engaged to reach the target learner groups.
The project will offer a centralised customer journey, co-ordinated through BSK, providing information, advice and guidance, brokerage and evaluation to all participants.
The Enviroskills team is constantly looking at policy activity, market trends and legislation to ensure the right training courses are available and most importantly to help SME organisations in the South East to win new contracts.
