Caroline joined the GROW project run by Surrey Community Action for help with CV writing and finding a job that fitted in with her family.

Her IT skills needed refreshing, along with a boost to her assertiveness and confidence in herself, and she had no Level 2 qualifications in literacy or numeracy. Caroline had very low confidence, and a fear of criticism. She compensated for her fear of people by trying too hard to be nice.

Since completing the course, Caroline is now unafraid to try new experiences, and more confident about dealing with people. Her newfound confidence helped her to gain Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy, and inspired her to begin EDCL training. She is also volunteering part time at a hospital, gaining experience of an administrative role; something

she never would have considered beforehand.
