Jane was referred to Reach
Out from Guinness Care Floating Support Team. She had been on JSA over
six months and had multiple barriers to progression including; literacy
needs; low self esteem and confidence as well as being a victim of
domestic violence.
Jane had a one-to-one
session with a Key Worker where long and short term goals were discussed
and an action plan agreed. She was referred to South Downs College for
English with IT course. Continuous contact with Jane became difficult
because of financial problems, but with the help from the Guinness Care
Support Worker, we were able to encourage regular engagement.
Whilst attending college
Jane was assisted in her job search activities and also in preparing a
CV. As a result she was successful in securing a position at a local
retail outlet and is now working 20 hours per week. |
