Lee
heard about Personal Best through his Probation Officer. He realised it
was the chance he had been waiting for to set himself on the right path:
“It was a chance to get involved with the Club, and a great opportunity
to get onto a Stewarding Course, which could lead to other opportunities
at the Club. It was made for me. I didn’t hesitate!”
Lee
had always been a huge Brighton and Hove Albion supporter- his son is
called Albion! He was pleasantly surprised to learn that Charlie and
Danny, both of whom are ‘football legends’ in his eyes, were mentors on
the course, and “genuine, no nonsense guys who will help you to do what
you want. They don’t let people take liberties; you have to put in the
work”.
Lee
has enjoyed this course more than any other he had previously
undertaken. He plans to follow the Personal Best programme by enrolling
onto the Level 2 Stewardship Course, plus Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
Lee enthuses about the Club- recognising what a great place it is for
new opportunities you might not find elsewhere, and he is keen to take
the FA Coaching Course being offered by Albion in the Community.
Lee
says Brighton and Hove Albion is a great learning environment, and he
feels positive about his learning experience and would like to extend
his knowledge by undertaking some voluntary or charity work, perhaps
stewarding, to learn more about possible future career paths. His family
and very happy that he is doing something positive, and Lee feels much
more confident and happier in himself. |
